The culvert near Bakarpur village is on the way of the Singthara Drain. Being at higher level, the drain can not be deepened for easy passage of the flood water. Prakash Foundation has demanded the district administration an immediate action to destroy the culvert so that thousands of acres fertile land could be saved from the ensuing flood situation in the region.
Mr Narvijay Yadav, founder president of the foundation said, "The culvert pipes are 1.5 feet above the base level of the Singthara Drain. The water cannot flow easily unless the culvert is removed or its level is lowered anyhow." Meanwhile the maintenance work is continue. In the picture, people from Palai village are taking stock of the situation.
